I’m having troubling writing songs right now. This is an old song that I’ve written back in Summer 2004. It’s probably the second song I’ve written. I’m using a new video editing program called Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. This is much easier than Final Cut Express 4 – for me at least. The video looks simple, but it took me two hours to edit it. Lyrics: Don’t tell her this How I’ve been so remiss And how I followed my own ways And yes I’ve been bad How I ignored the plans That was for me But damn I feel so free That I can finally breathe And I know it’s weird But it’s time for me to find the truth I take it back All the things I’ve said It’s not what I meant Maybe you’re wrong Maybe you’re right You’re always right to me Meaning of the song: Some people think this song is about cheating on my girlfriend, and I’m telling my friends, “Don’t tell my girlfriend!” NO. That’s not what the song is about. The song is NOT about my cheating on a girlfriend. If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn’t even think about cheating. Anyways, the “her” in this song is my mother. I couldn’t do a lot of things in my middle school years and my high school years (basically hanging out with my friends). It was only in college when I started doing the things I wanted to do. And if my mother were to hear all the random things I’m doing in college…she’d kill me. So yeah, if you read the lyrics, you’ll understand. For the part, “Maybe you’re right/Maybe you’re wrong/You’re always right to me.” Whatever she has …
